"Credit Report Tattoo"-Our assignment for this project was to make an intervention into the current monetary system. I chose to focus on the individual credit problems we have here in the U.S. A large portion of the population is in extreme debt and a large part of this has to do with the fact that many don't have a visceral sense of the reality of their debt. I designed therefore a system that would make an individual's debt not only physically evident to them, but also advertised to everyone they meet. The idea is similar to the concept of the scarlet letter which when worn reminds the wearer of their "problem" and shows everyone else as both a warning and a source of shame to the bearer.
