Sarah (aka Sissy) was always an "artist" and was going to be an "artist" when she grew up-always drawing, obsessed with Shiele, Twombly, Tanguy, contour drawings etc., however, sometime during her senior year in highschool she came up with the notion that she wanted to design doorknobs. Thus she applied to the design program at UT and thank god she didn't got to architecture instead because she discovered she discovered she did not not want to design doorknobs at all in fact that which she thought she hated, typography, became her passion. Instead of designing aything 3-d she re-realised her life long obsession with line and composition. Design has been a means, a philosophy, a process, a tool with which to rigorously investigate obsessions, solve problems, and create elegant solutions.
Some of these obsessions include: Whales, shadows, the untold stories of objects and places, abandoned buildings, intangible spaces, water, re-ification, the art of the Polish poster, rapidograph pens, and delicate lines.
